After my little visit to the Chedi, my quest of exceptional places in our beautiful country keeps on. It’s also one of the Leading Hotels of the World, in a way more animated city than Andermatt: Zurich. Perfect for a little relaxing getaway weekend, with its beautiful spa, the Dodler Grand is located at about fifteen minutes by car from the city center, on a hill with a breathtaking view over the roofs and lake.
English architect Norman Foster made the renovations, between 2004 et 2008, and the mix between ancien (the original building was built in 1899) and contemporary is really well realized, but the main attraction are the innumerable art pieces situated in every corner of the hotel. Andy Warhol, Salvador Dali, Man Ray, Anish Kapoor, Fernando Bottero, Jean Dubuffet, Keith Haring, Joan Miro, Nikki de Saint Phalle et Jean Tinguely, and the list is much longer, a real museum!
With its different ambiances spaces, I really appreciated the restaurant. The dishes were delicious, and the service was perfect. The breakfast was amazing… the pictures talk for themselves…
The room, with Zurich and lake view
Time to say goodbye is always hard… until next time!
